Designs for Health’s Twice Daily Multi™ has been improved in the following ways:
Formula changes include:
- The vitamin A is now naturally from mixed carotenoids from palm tree fruit—a total of 3200 IU per two capsules.
- Vitamin D has increased from 100 IU to 500 IU!
- Vitamin E is now mixed tocopherols emphasizing gamma, with the second highest amount being delta and the lowest emphasis on alpha tocopherol.
- Methylcobalamin B12 (the best form for homocysteine maintenance*) has increased from 100mcg to 500mcg.
- Still high in all B vitamins—including 400mcg folates (NatureFolate™ blend).
- Albion chelated minerals for optimal absorbability.
- Selenium as selenomethionine for increasing metallothionine levels for the purpose of optimizing zinc metabolism and control of heavy metals.
Formula changes include:
-
Vitamin D increased from 500 IU to 1000 IU (25 mcg) -
Vitamin A changed from 3200 IU to 522 mcg RAE (new unit of measure, actual amount of vitamin A remains the same) -
Vitamin E (high gamma mixed tocopherols) reduced from 158 mg to 100 mg -
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) changed from 24 IU to 9 mg (new unit of measure) -

Communication: We are notifying customers of this product reformulation.
NEW FDA LABEL REGULATIONS - Explanation of nutrient measurement units:
Vitamin D:
Vitamin D is now listed in mcg. Vitamin D IUs may be listed voluntarily in parenthesis as well.
Unit conversion: 1 mcg = 40 IU
Vitamin A:
Vitamin A is now listed in mcg of Retinol Activity Equivalents (RAE), which is a change in unit from the pre-existing label, where Vitamin A was listed in IUs. The conversion from IUs to mcg RAE considers whether the Vitamin A is coming from an animal source (retinol) or a plant source (carotenoids), or a combination of sources. We use plant sourced carotenoids which have higher RAE than retinol.
Vitamin E:
The nutrient measurement unit for vitamin E has changed from IU to mg of alpha-tocopherol. The conversion factor you use depends on whether the source is from food or supplement.
Folate:
Folate is now listed in mcg of dietary folate equivalents (DFE). The development of DFEs reflect the higher bioavailability of folic acid than that of food folate. At least 85% of folic acid is estimated to be bioavailable when taken with food, whereas only about 50% of folate naturally present in food is bioavailable. Based on these values, DFE can be calculated as follows:
As a dietary supplement, take two capsules per day with meals, or as directed by your health care practitioner.
